Sunny Tuesday!- Koala dips and charleston kicks!
Coogee (Coogee Randwick RSL Club)
07 Oct 2008
Dancing in daylight tonight! I love daylight savings:-)
Level 1
Tonight we started with the 8 beat rhythm.
the basic footwork: step step da da da, step step da da da. or step step triple step, step step triple step.
We did:
- Basic in closed
- Send out- guys lean forward on 3 &4, and then push her out on 5, girls step into your arm on 5 &6 and then unwind with your final triple step.
- Basic in open
- Bring her back into a circle- guys put your right 'arm of welcome' up and catch her on 3 &4, girls go straight at him, then stay square with his shoulders (so your back goes into his arm).
- The Koala dip!- Guys, step step (open the door), triple step (close the door) and sink and bring her back up. Girls, step step triple step to get in, then sink on your own right foot (keep your back straight), hug his arm and stay close to him.
Level 2
Charleston
- Side by side charleston
- Into kick throughs on 5
- Peel away for two kicks then catch her to continue the kick throughs
- Back to side by side charleston
- 8 beat Tandem entry- rock step tuck girls in, then let her bounce off guys left hand to turn on the spot around into tandem charleston. Girls- footwork is rock step kick step, kick and kick (pivoting) and rock step to start tandem charleston.
See ya!
