Profile

Alan Stubbs

Alan has been dancing Lindy hop and Balboa since 2003, Blues since 2006 mostly.  He started out in the Edinburgh University Swing Dance Society and Edinburgh Swing Dance Society (ESDS), and went to far too many dance camps around Europe (Herrang, Summer Camp, LBF, FBF, Lindy Shock,...)!  He has taught the Swing Dance St Andrews university dance society with its founder, Kim, from its inception in 2006, through to this Summer, culminating in its first, very successful performance of the Lindy chorus in the annual university show - it is a thriving society.  He has taught Lindy Hop, Balboa and occasionally Blues for ESDS and Edinbop - from complete beginners through to Advanced Lindy classes with Christi Guest, in the absence of her regular partner.  He has run an informal Balboa practise/teaching session for several months recently, alongside Suzan Arvaj, with whom he has also taught Lindy.  He has tried out many different types of dancing before settling on Swing - as well as tap and hip hop if only he could practise some!  He has taken part in a 10 week teach the teacher course run by Christi Guest in Edinburgh.  He performs and competes occasionally and usually enjoys it in the end but really he just likes to dance socially!

Swing Patrol is thrilled to have such a warm and giving teacher like Alan on the team.

Alan will be part of the Swing Patrol  team teaching swing dancing ( mainly Lindy Hop ) around London. At present we haven't allocated venues to our fabulous team of swing dance instructors but watch this space and we will sort out as soon as possible. One thing we can assure you though is that our team of seven teachers all absolutely love their swing dancing and can't wait to share the dane that they love in 2009.
