Profile

Glenda Andrews

Glenda has been dancing all her life starting at the age of four doing tap, ballet, song and dance, jazz ballet competing in many competitions around Victoria. These two are great role model to many dancers around town.

At fifteen she started ballroom dancing and followed on with rock n roll socially.

Glenda teaches with partner Lindsay and they have proudly studied under Steve Octigan and that’s when their dancing really took a leap. Steve was a hard task master but Glenda and Lindsay accepted the challenge and enjoyed the technical side of dancing. It was during this time that they were introduced to Lindy Hop as members of the first workshop in Melbourne with Rob Bloom in 1995.

Lindsay & Glenda have spent several years learning at various Swing patrol venues over the last four/five years.

They have competed in numerous competitions in Sydney, Queensland, Adelaide and Victoria in such categories as Rock n Roll, Freestyle, Slow Swing, Swing Jive and Lindy Hop, collecting 204 trophies  (that’s right….204) along the way, including the Victorian State Title in 1999.

Since retiring from competition they have judged for the Victorian Rock n Roll Dance Association, Crown Casino Dance sport and for Swing Patrol at the Australian & Sydney Jitterbug Championships. They are dedicated dancers with a great love of Swing dancing and are committed to helping our swing scene develop.

These two popular dancers run SP Berwick and we are proud to have them on our team!
