Jase Selva

**Jase recently appeared on Channel 9 on the Kerri-Anne show. Check out the footage at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9KxffIjMYY

In the early days of this devious dancer's career, Jase found there just wasn't enough time to dance ye olde Lindy Hop.  These days, he finds there is not enough time to dance anything he can get his hands on.  After taking on a teaching role for SP Sydney, he found the extra Lindy had to be diluted.  The last two years, he's taken classes in Hip Hop, Tap, Tango and Contemporary, but balanced it out with trips to Sweden, France and the US for some Lindy lovin' (no, not like that). Jase has competed in competitions, done dozens of demonstrations, and even been transmitted on television - unfortunately the 10 pounds the camera added to his head remained with him after the event!  You're sure to see Jase in the depths of the dancefloor at social events, unless he's spent the swing funds on a holiday, or stumbling on the outside of the social floor after a few too many (allegedly) quiet ones....

Personal highlights so far:

  • Learning from Dax Hock in Canberra
  • Watching Tom Frazier and Richa Rogan rip up the Green Square community centre, time and time again.
  • Watching the fast foot for the first time at AJC 2005 (and consequently becoming a swing junkie from that night onwards)
  • Competing in SJC 2005
  • Private lesson with Nathalie and Yuval

Recent competition results:

  • 2008 Australian Swing Dance Championships 1st place JacknJill, 2nd place fast foot, 2nd place Showcase.
