Kieran Yee
Kieran began his swing journey with Shaz and Nigel at the sticky floored bandroom of The Nash in Geelong. Kieran credits his inspiration from the moves of Michael Jackson and Gene Kelly, the music of Louis Armstrong and Dave Matthews, and films with Jet Li and Jackie Chan.
Recent highlights of Kieran’s swing journey include:
- Co-teaching Swing Patrol’s performance development troupe, Bratpack
- Winning the Australian Hellzapoppin Championships (2007) with Cathie Gough
- Winning the Australian Jitterbug Championships Showcase division with good mate Cam Mitchell (2007)
Outside of swing, Kieran is either working for a big car company in logistics, participating in every kind of sport possible (including the swing patrol Soccer Team), listening to music for hours on end, body surfing at the Jan Juc beach, laughing loudly, singing in the shower, drinking a few beers with mates, or, as we could only expect from the Geelong boy, supporting the might Cats.
